What is Arashi Love?

 Arashi Love is more than just an online store. It's a small home based business. It's a one woman show. It's hard work. It's passion. It's hope. It's my families future. It's weathering the storm and waking up to brighter skies. It's all of these things, and more, all wrapped up and hand dyed with love.
Our products are inspired by Japanese Shibori Tie Dye techniques, hand dyed in small batches to ensure the best quality and that each piece is as unique as you are.

 

What is Shibori?

Shibori is a Japanese manual resist dyeing technique, which produces patterns on fabric. The shibori technique dates back to the 8th century.

 

What is Arashi? 

"Arashi" is the Japanese word for storm. The Arashi Shibori technique is achieved by wrapping fabric diagonally around a pole. Then the cloth is then very tightly bound with thread and scrunched on the pole before immersing in dye. The resulting design gives the feel of rain from a heavy storm.
